Life and register readings
Mehmet Emin Efendi was born in Hersek in 1857/58 (AH 1274); the father's occupation was "Hersek jandarma yüzbaşısı". At about 19, in 1877/78, Mehmet Emin began work in Hersek. The first annual entry, for 1877/78, places Mehmet Emin in Hersek, the birthplace, as Muhasebe memuru. The lists have no entry for 1878 to 1881. Next came Bartın in 1881/82 and Çarşamba in 1883/84, then a post with no place named from 1888 to 1908. For 1884 to 1888 and 1890 to 1907 the lists have no entry.
