İstarati Haralombo Efendi was born in Bursa in 1877/78 (AH 1294), within the Hristiyan community. The father’s occupation was Tüccar. Schooling included Rum mekteb-i ibtidâîyesi; Bursa mekteb-i ibtidâîye mülkiyesi; mekteb-i tıbbiye-i mülkiye-i şâhâne. The language repertoire included French and Turkish. [source]
