Life and register readings
İstarati Haralombo Efendi was born in Bursa in 1877/78 (AH 1294) into the Hristiyan community; the father was a merchant (tüccar). At about 27, in 1904/05, İstarati Haralombo began work, on a first salary of 600 kuruş. The first annual entry, for 1904/05, names İstarati Haralombo as belediye tebabeti, with no place. The lists have no entry for 1906 to 1908. In place of a title the lists give Infisal for 1908/09.
The salary never rose above the first in the lists, 600 kuruş a month in 1904/05, when two in three paid officials earned less. The final annual entry is for 1909/10.
