Life and register readings
Mehmet Ağa was born in Ürgüp in 1862/63 (AH 1279); the father was a mounted courier (tatar). The schooling was at a school for young children (Sıbyan Mektebi).
The personnel record dates the first work to 1897/98, after the first annual entry, on a first salary of 250 kuruş.
