Life and register readings
Born in Hüdâvendigâr vilâyeti'nde Atranos kasabası in 1873/74 (AH 1290), Ömer Efendi came from the İslam community. Ömer began work in 1889/90, at about 16. The first annual entry, for 1889/90, names Ömer as Mulazemet, with no place. The lists give İstifa (resignation) for 1892/93 instead of a title.
The salary went from 60 kuruş a month in 1894/95 to 125 in 1895/96, the peak, when 7 per cent of paid officials earned less. The final annual entry is for 1895/96.
