Life and register readings

Born in Antalya in 1862/63 (AH 1279), Mehmed Ali Efendi was the child of an attorney (dava vekili). The first annual entry, for 1881/82, names Mehmed Ali as Teke Sancağı Meclis-i İdare ikinci kâtibi, with no place. At the same time, from 1883 to 1886, the lists also place Mehmed Ali in Antalya as Antalya Reji İdaresi ikinci kâtibi. Mehmed Ali then moved to a post with no place named from 1887 to 1899. The lists have no entry for 1895 to 1897. The last posts were in Akseki from 1899 to 1902 and Skopje (Üsküp) in 1907/08. For 1902 to 1907 the lists have no entry.
