Life and register readings

Kamil Efendi was born in Bursa in 1857/58 (AH 1274), into the İslam community, and the father's occupation was "Asker-i zabtiye tabur kâtibi". Work began in 1875/76, at about 17. The annual lists begin in 1875/76, with Kamil as Mulazemet and no place named. Kamil then moved to Bursa and Eskişehir from 1878 to 1880. Alongside, the lists for 1879/80 give a second post, in Bursa with no title named. The last posts were in Thessaloniki (Selanik) from 1881 to 1886. The lists give İstifa (resignation) for 1880/81 and Azil (dismissal) for 1885/86 instead of a title.

The salary went from 300 kuruş a month in 1876/77 to 475 in 1883/84, the peak, in Thessaloniki, when 59 per cent of paid officials earned less. The last annual entry is for 1885/86.
