Life and register readings
Mehmet Adil Bey was born in Tanuközü in 1871/72 (AH 1288); the father's occupation was "Ulema; Çerkeş amiri". Work began in 1900/01, at about 29, on a first salary of 400 kuruş. The first annual entry, for 1900/01, names Mehmet Adil as Reji Memuru, with no place. Alongside, the lists for 1902 to 1904 give a second post, in Cide as Reji Memuru. At the same time, from 1905 to 1909, the lists also place Mehmet Adil in Bartın as Reji Memuru. Alongside, the lists for 1908/09 give a second post, in Samsun as Orman Dairesi Teftiş Kalemi görevi.
The salary went from 400 kuruş a month in 1900/01 to 450 in 1903/04, the peak, as Reji Memuru, when half the paid officials earned less. The final annual entry is for 1908/09.
