Life and register readings
Mehmet Kamil Efendi was born in Trebin (Bosna) in 1861/62 (AH 1278); the father's occupation was "Kartal Kazası Rüsûmât Memuru". At about 20, in 1881/82, Mehmet Kamil began work in Istanbul. The first annual entry, for 1881/82, places Mehmet Kamil in Istanbul as Şehremâneti Kalemi mülazımı, where the entries run to 1891/92. Alongside, the lists for 1888 to 1895 give a second post, in a post with no place named as Şehremaneti tahsilat kalemi memuru.
