Life and register readings
The life of Şevket Efendi began in Çemişgezek in 1873/74 (AH 1290). Work began in Istanbul in 1894/95, at about 21, on a first salary of 400 kuruş. The annual lists begin in 1894/95, with Şevket as Anbar ve manifesto kâtibi and no place named. At the same time, from 1906/07, the lists also place Şevket in Istanbul as Muayene kâtibi.
