Life and register readings
Hüseyin Nuri Efendi was born in Gelibolu; the father's occupation was "Gelibolu Sancağı ser-tahsildarı (sabık)". The personnel record dates the first work in Gelibolu to 1898/99 (AH 1316), after the first annual entry. The first annual entry, for 1893/94, names Hüseyin Nuri as gönüllü askerlik, with no place. At the same time, from 1898 to 1900, the lists also place Hüseyin Nuri in Gelibolu as Muhasebe Kalemi mülazımı. Alongside, the lists for 1900 to 1908 give a second post, in Mürefte as Mal müdür yardımcısı.
The salary never rose above the first in the lists, 800 kuruş a month in 1898/99, in Gelibolu, when 78 per cent of paid officials earned less. The final annual entry is for 1907/08.
