Life and register readings
The life of Ömer Efendi began in Dişidi (Harput) in 1852/53 (AH 1269). Ömer began work in Harput in 1872/73, at about 19, on a first salary of 150 kuruş. The first annual entry, for 1872/73, places Ömer in Harput as Harput tahrirat kalemi mübeyyizi, where the entries run to 1878/79. Alongside, the lists for 1878 to 1887 give a second post, in Van as Van vilayeti meclis-i idare başkâtibi. The lists have no entry for 1880 to 1884. The last posts were in Çatak (Şatak) from 1888 to 1890.
