Life and register readings
ZEYNÜLABİDİN EFENDİ was born in Kirkuk (Kerkük) in 1864/65 (AH 1281). The schooling was at a school for young children (Sıbyan Mektebi). At about 17, in 1881/82, ZEYNÜLABİDİN began work. The first annual entry, for 1881/82, names ZEYNÜLABİDİN as Muhasebe kalemi memuru, with no place. In place of a title the lists give Infisal for 1888/89.
The salary never rose above the first in the lists, 200 kuruş a month in 1882/83, when 12 per cent of paid officials earned less. In all, seven years of salary come to 16,800 kuruş, 50 per cent of what an official on the median salary earned in those years. The final annual entry is for 1888/89.
