Life and register readings

Born in Kütahya, Kal'a-i Sağir Mahallesi in 1856/57 (AH 1273), Salih Şükrü Efendi came from the İslam community. Work began in 1862/63, at about 6. Of the 5,664 officials whose age at first work is known, 10 started at 6 or younger. The first annual entry, for 1862/63, names Salih Şükrü as Gayriresmî mektep öğrencisi, with no place.
