Doğum yeri Uşak merkeze bağlı Hacı Hızır mahallesi olup 1283 hicrî
senesinin Cemâziyelevvelinin sonlarında dünyaya gelmiştir. (Eylül 1866 ) Şükrü
Şehâdetnâmesinde Şükrü Efendi’nin 110 numara bir şehadetnamenin yanı sıra 90
numara kesbiyle eld e ettiği bir şehadetname daha aldığı görülmüştür ki bu ikincisi,
tarafından onaylanmış tır. Hafızlık eğitimi ve Fatih’te Urfalı Mecid Efendi’den
1311/1893 yılında aldığı icâzetin ar dından şehadetname ile beraber İstanbul’da
tekmil-i nesh ile aldığı icâzetnamesiyle kendi mezun olduğu Rüşdiye’ye iş
