Life and register readings
İbrahim Ethem Efendi was born in Kilis in 1868/69 (AH 1285), into the İslam community, and the father's occupation was "Kilis kazası idare meclisi azası". Work began in Kilis in 1893/94, at about 25, on a first salary of 360 kuruş. The annual lists begin in 1893/94, with İbrahim Ethem as Sandık emini in Kilis, the birthplace, where the entries run to 1895/96. At the same time, from 1895 to 1898, the lists also place İbrahim Ethem in Belen as Sandık emini. The last entries, from 1898 to 1903, name İbrahim Ethem as Vergi kâtibi refiki, with no place.
