Life and register readings
Nadirzâde Nasrullah Bey was born in Dagistan in 1843/44 (AH 1259). Work began in 1874/75, at about 31, on a first salary of 1,500 kuruş. The first annual entry, for 1874/75, names Nadirzâde Nasrullah as İskân ve muhacirin memuru, with no place. Nadirzâde Nasrullah then moved to Şırnak and Cizre from 1880 to 1886. Alongside, the lists for 1885 to 1887 give a second post, in Midyat as Kaymakam vekili. Next came Cizre from 1888 to 1890, then a post with no place named from 1890 to 1903. Alongside, the lists for 1902 to 1907 give a second post, in Rumkale as a district governor (Kaymakam). Alongside, the lists for 1906 to 1908 give a second post, in Raqqa as Kaymakam. Alongside, the lists for 1907/08 give a second post, in Andırın as Kaymakam. Few officials served in as many places; fewer than 8 per cent of the 6,605 officials with a place of service did.
Pay rose from 1,500 kuruş a month in 1874/75 to a peak of 1,750 in 1890/91, as Kaymakam, when nine in ten paid officials earned less. On average the pay stood in the top 13.1 per cent of each year's paid officials; fewer than 6 per cent of the 4,381 officials paid for five years or more stood as high. The last annual entry is for 1907/08.
