Hüseyin Hüsnü Efendi

Hüseyin Hüsnü Efendi was born in Menteşe karyesi in 1862/63 (AH 1279) into the İslam community; the father's occupation was "çiftçi (zürra)". The personnel record dates the first work to 1899/1900, after the first annual entry. Few began so late; fewer than 5 per cent of the 5,664 officials whose age at first work is known started at 37 or older. From the first annual entry, for 1896/97, to 1920/21, every annual entry places Hüseyin Hüsnü in the same post, dersiam silkine intihab (intihabname), in Istanbul. Of the 2,755 officials whose entries span 20 years or more, fewer than 5 per cent stayed in one place throughout. The annual entries give no salary. The last annual entry is for 1920/21.
