Life and register readings
Born in Shkodër (İşkodra) in 1844/45 (AH 1260), Ömer Yümni Efendi was the child of a clerk (katip). At about 17, in 1861/62, Ömer Yümni began work in Shkodër. The annual lists begin in 1861/62, with Ömer Yümni as Muhasebe Kalemi mülazımı in Shkodër, the birthplace, where the entries run to 1880/81. Alongside, the lists for 1880/81 give a second post, in Durrës as Sancak Tahrirat Müdürü, with a rise to Sancak Tahrirat Müdürü.
