Life and register readings
The life of MEHMET EMĠN EFENDĠ began in Antalya in 1844/45 (AH 1260); the father's occupation was "Topçu Asâkir-i Şahane yüzbaşısı". Work began in Istanbul in 1860/61, at about 16. Alongside, the lists for 1882 to 1887 give a second post, in Büyükçekmece as Tahrirat kâtibi. For 1884 to 1886 the lists have no entry. The lists have no entry for 1887 to 1894. In place of a title the lists give Vefat (death) for 1894/95.
Pay rose from 400 kuruş a month in 1870/71 to a peak of 650 in 1877/78, in Çatalca, when 68 per cent of paid officials earned less. The final annual entry is for 1894/95.
