The life of Yusuf Ziyaeddin Efendi began in Amrun karyesi in 1856/57 (AH 1273). The first annual entry, for 1881/82, names Yusuf Ziyaeddin as Aşar Kalemi stajyeri (Görevin sona ermesi), with no place. For 1882 to 1884 and 1886 to 1888 the lists have no entry.
