Life and register readings
Born in Afyonkarahisar (Karahisar-ı Sahib) in 1858/59 (AH 1275), Mustafa Nazım Efendi came from the İslam community; the father was a medrese teacher (müderris). Work began in Afyonkarahisar in 1878/79, at about 20. The annual lists begin in 1878/79, with Mustafa Nazım as Tahrir ve Vergi Kalemi mülazımı in Afyonkarahisar, the birthplace. Mustafa Nazım then moved to a post with no place named from 1880 to 1887. Alongside, the lists for 1886/87 give a second post, in Bolvadin as Tahrir ve Vergi Kâtibi vekili. The annual lists then follow Mustafa Nazım to Bolvadin in 1898/99. For 1889 to 1898 the lists have no entry. Alongside, the lists for 1898/99 give a second post, in Sandıklı as Mal Müdür Muavini.
