Life and register readings
Born in Bursa in 1850/51 (AH 1267), İbrahim Efendi came from the İslam community; the father's occupation was "Hüdâvendigâr vilâyeti muhâsebe kalemi kâtibi". Work began in 1872/73, at about 21. The annual lists begin in 1872/73, with İbrahim as Mulazemet and no place named. Alongside, the lists for 1872 to 1875 give a second post, in Bursa as muvakkit sûretle Bursa rüsûmat müdiriyeti Koza müzâyede kitâbeti. At the same time, from 1874 to 1888, the lists also place İbrahim in a post with no place named as Pazarköy rüsûmat idaresi mâkitâbet sandık eminliği. Alongside, the lists for 1878 to 1880 give a second post, in Bursa as Bursa rüsûmat müdiriyeti müzâyede kitâbet muvakkitesi. The last entry, for 1889/90, names İbrahim as sandık eminliği, with no place. The lists give İstifa (resignation) for 1887/88 instead of a title.
The salary went from 190 kuruş a month in 1872/73 to 760 in 1880/81, the peak, when 76 per cent of paid officials earned less. The final annual entry is for 1889/90.
