Life and register readings
Mişel Efendi was born in Aleppo (Halep) in 1870/71 (AH 1287), into the Hristiyan community. At about 15, in 1884/85, Mişel began work in Aleppo. The annual lists begin in 1884/85, with Mişel as Halep Düyun-ı Umumiye Nezareti muhasebe memuru in Aleppo, the birthplace, where the entries run to 1890/91. The lists have no entry for 1885 to 1890.
