Life and register readings
The life of Mehmet Münip Efendi began in Sivas in 1848/49 (AH 1265). Work began in Sivas in 1867/68, at about 18. The annual lists begin in 1867/68, with Mehmet Münip as muhasebe kalemi stajyeri and no place named. Alongside, the lists for 1871 to 1873 give a second post, in Şebinkarahisar as seyyar fırka mukayyidi. Mehmet Münip then moved to a post with no place named from 1874 to 1879, then Tokat in 1879/80. The last posts were in Niksar from 1880 to 1888. For 1881 to 1887 the lists have no entry. In place of a title the lists give Infisal for 1873/74.
The salary never rose above the first in the lists, 300 kuruş a month in 1871/72, in Şebinkarahisar, when 30 per cent of paid officials earned less. In all, seven years of salary come to 22,020 kuruş, 61 per cent of what an official on the median salary earned in those years. The last annual entry is for 1887/88.
