Life and register readings

Born in Harput in 1832/33 (AH 1248) into the İslam community, Said Efendi was the child of a merchant (tüccar). At about 21, in 1853/54, Said began work. The annual lists begin in 1853/54, with Said as a soldier (Asker) and no place named. For 1854 to 1856 and 1857 to 1866 the lists have no entry. Said then moved to Kilis and Kemaliye (Eğin) from 1866 to 1871. The lists have no entry for 1868 to 1870. The last entries, from 1871 to 1883, name Said as Ticaret mahkemesi başkâtibi, with no place. For 1872 to 1879 the lists have no entry. The lists have no entry for 1880 to 1882.
