Life and register readings

Born in Bursa in 1861/62 (AH 1278), İspiraki Piloksinidis Efendi came from the Hristiyan community; the father's occupation was "Adana kalem-i me'muru sabık". İspiraki Piloksinidis began work in 1880/81, at about 19. The first annual entry, for 1880/81, names İspiraki Piloksinidis as Ada kaleme'murluğu kitâbet ve tercümanlığı (fahri), with no place. The lists have no entry for 1884 to 1886, 1887 to 1890, 1891 to 1895 and 1899 to 1901. In place of a title the lists give Infisal for 1895/96.

The salary went from 600 kuruş a month in 1886/87 to 2,000 in 1896/97, the peak, when 92 per cent of paid officials earned less. The peak lasted a single year; the next list gives 1,800 kuruş.
