Life and register readings
The life of Mehmed Rıfat Bey began in Istanbul in 1877/78 (AH 1294); the father's occupation was "Gelibolu jandarma binbaşısı". Mehmed Rıfat began work in Serres (Siroz) in 1894/95, at about 17.
