Life and register readings
The life of Mustafa Bey began in Afyonkarahisar (Karahisar-ı Sahib) in 1871/72 (AH 1288). The first annual entry, for 1890/91, names Mustafa as Afyon (haşhaş) memuru, with no place. At the same time, from 1893 to 1899, the lists also place Mustafa in Afyonkarahisar as Afyon (haşhaş) muharriri, with a rise to Afyon (haşhaş) muharriri.
