Life and register readings
İbrahim Efendi was born in Gündüzler, Silifke in 1855/56 (AH 1272) into the İslam community. Work began in 1877/78, at about 21. The annual lists begin in 1877/78, with İbrahim as a soldier (Asker) and no place named. Alongside, the lists for 1881 to 1884 give a second post, in Mut as Aşar ve ağnam ikinci kâtibi. At the same time, from 1883 to 1885, the lists also place İbrahim in a post with no place named as Muhasebe kalemi merkez kazası malî kâtibi.
Pay rose from 71.5 kuruş a month in 1878/79 to a peak of 400 in 1884/85, when 45 per cent of paid officials earned less. In all, seven years of salary come to 17,334 kuruş, 51 per cent of what an official on the median salary earned in those years. The final annual entry is for 1884/85.
