MEHMED TEVFĠK EFENDĠ was born in Antalya in 1876/77 (AH 1293); the father's occupation was "Ekmekçi esnafı". At about 16, in 1892/93, MEHMED TEVFĠK EFENDĠ began work in Antalya.
