Life and register readings
Sokrat Haralamidi Efendi was born in Bursa in 1877/78 (AH 1294), into the Hristiyan community, and the father's occupation was "Çuhacı". At about 22, in 1899/1900, Sokrat Haralamidi began work. The first annual entry, for 1899/1900, names Sokrat Haralamidi as maliye mal ve ahiren bidâyet mahkemesi kalemlerine mülâzemet, with no place. For 1900 to 1904 the lists have no entry. The lists give Infisal for 1909/10 instead of a title.
The salary never rose above the first in the lists, 540 kuruş a month in 1904/05, when 63 per cent of paid officials earned less. The final annual entry is for 1909/10.
