Life and register readings
Rıza Efendi was born in Silistra (Silistre) in 1880/81 (AH 1298). The personnel record dates the first work in Istanbul to 1897/98, after the first annual entry. The first annual entry, for 1887/88, places Rıza in Istanbul as Öğrenci, where the entries run to 1909/10. For 1888 to 1897 the lists have no entry. Alongside, the lists for 1909 to 1911 give a second post, in a post with no place named as Altıncı Daire vakfiye tahsildarı.
