Yorgaki Voloçuslus Efendi was born in Didymoteicho (Dimetoka) in 1845/46 (AH 1262), within the Rum Ortodoks community. The father’s occupation was Sarraf. Schooling included Dimetoka Rum Mektebi. The language repertoire included Bulgarian, Rum (as recorded) and Turkish. [1]
