Life and register readings
The life of Salih Sabri Efendi began in Mostar. The first annual entry, for 1869/70 (AH 1286), places Salih Sabri in Mostar, the birthplace, as Tahrir-i emlak kalemi mukayyidi, where the entries run to 1873/74. The lists have no entry for 1874 to 1881. Next came Karamürsel in 1881/82, then a post with no place named from 1882 to 1894, with a rise to customs official (Rüsumat Memuru).
