Life and register readings
The life of Sırrı Bey began in Plovdiv (Filibe) in 1871/72 (AH 1288); the father's occupation was "Filibe İslam cemaati başkâtibi". Work began in 1897/98, at about 26. The annual lists begin in 1897/98, with Sırrı as Umur-ı Şehbenderi Kalemi mülazımı and no place named. At the same time, from 1897 to 1899, the lists also place Sırrı in Varna as Varna Tüccar Vekâleti kâtibi. The last post was in Niš (Niş) in 1900/01. In place of a title the lists give İstifa (resignation) for 1898/99.
