Life and register readings
The life of Tatyos Efendi began in Didymoteicho (Dimetoka) in 1841/42 (AH 1257). Tatyos began work in Pomorie (Ahyolu) in 1865/66, at about 24, on a first salary of 300 kuruş. The first annual entry, for 1865/66, names Tatyos as Sandık sarrafı muavini, with no place. The lists have no entry for 1866 to 1869. Tatyos then moved back to Didymoteicho, the birthplace, from 1872 to 1875. For 1875 to 1878 the lists have no entry. Alongside, the lists for 1874/75 give a second post, in a post with no place named as Görevin sona ermesi. Next came a return to Didymoteicho from 1878 to 1885. Alongside, the lists for 1884 to 1889 give a second post, in Alexandroupoli as Sancak sandık sarrafı. The lists give İstifa (resignation) for 1869/70 and 1879/80; Infisal for 1886/87 instead of a title.
The salary never rose above the first in the lists, 500 kuruş a month in 1865/66, when 53 per cent of paid officials earned less. Over 13 years pay ended where it began, at 500 kuruş. The final annual entry is for 1888/89.
