Life and register readings
The life of Mehmet Şevket Efendi began in Bandırma; the father's occupation was "Merzifon ser tahsildarı". The first annual entry, for 1887/88 (AH 1305), places Mehmet Şevket in Erdek as Mal müdürlüğü refakat memuru. The lists have no entry for 1888 to 1899. Mehmet Şevket then moved back to Bandırma, the birthplace, from 1899 to 1901, then Simav in 1902/03. Alongside, the lists for 1902 to 1908 give a second post, in a post with no place named as Mal Muduru, with a rise to Mal Muduru. The last post was in Erdek again in 1908/09.
