Life and register readings
The life of Tevfik Efendi began in Harput in 1862/63 (AH 1279). Tevfik began work in Baghdad (Bağdat) in 1884/85, at about 22. The annual lists begin in 1884/85, with Tevfik as Rüsumat Nezareti Tahrirat Kalemi mülazımı in Baghdad. Alongside, the lists for 1884 to 1887 give a second post, in a post with no place named as Rüsumat kâtibi.
