Life and register readings
İbrahim Edhem Efendi was born in Didymoteicho (Dimetoka) in 1870/71 (AH 1287); the father's occupation was "Dedeağaç Sancağı Bidayet Mahkemesi mübaşiri". The first annual entry, for 1885/86, places İbrahim Edhem in Alexandroupoli (Dedeağaç) as Ziraat Bankası şubesi kâtibi, where the entries run to 1890/91. Alongside, the lists for 1890/91 give a second post, in a post with no place named as Müskirat, yoklama ve işmara geçici memuru. At the same time, from 1890 to 1892, the lists also place İbrahim Edhem in Fethiye (Meğri) as Nahiye kâtibi. For 1892 to 1901 the lists have no entry. The last post was in Alexandroupoli again in 1903/04. In place of a title the lists give Azil (dismissal) for 1890/91, İstifa (resignation) for 1901/02 and Infisal for 1902/03.
