Life and register readings
The life of Mustafa Rahmi Efendi began in Harput in 1865/66 (AH 1282); the father's occupation was "İlmiye mensubu". Mustafa Rahmi began work in Niksar in 1889/90, at about 24, on a first salary of 180 kuruş. The annual lists begin in 1889/90, with Mustafa Rahmi as Tahrirat kâtibi in Niksar, where the entries run to 1908/09. The lists have no entry for 1890 to 1899.
