Life and register readings
İbrahim Zihni Efendi was born in Malatya in 1860/61 (AH 1277). The first salary was 1,300 kuruş a month. The annual lists begin in 1895/96, with İbrahim Zihni as Naib and no place named. Alongside, the lists for 1897/98 give a second post, in Edirne as Müderris (ilmiye rütbesi). Next came Tavas from 1898 to 1901. At the same time, from 1900 to 1903, the lists also place İbrahim Zihni in Kos (İstanköy) as Naib. The last posts were in Şarköy from 1903 to 1906.
The salary never rose above the first in the lists, 1,250 kuruş a month in 1895/96, when 85 per cent of paid officials earned less.
