Life and register readings
Born in Dagistan in 1856/57 (AH 1273), Mehmet İzzet Efendi was the child of a head of a sub-district (nahiye müdürü). Work began in 1876/77, at about 19. The annual lists begin in 1876/77, with Mehmet İzzet as Maliye Nezareti Bank Mazbata Odası mülazımı and no place named. At the same time, from 1892 to 1897, the lists also place Mehmet İzzet in Istanbul as Senedat-ı Kayıt Kalemi memuru.
