In 1876/77 (AH 1293) the collection records 1,129 officials; for 120 of them it is the first annual entry. The first annual entry is not the year of hiring: the personnel record gives the year of first work in a separate field. For 89 of the 120 that year is earlier. See How to read the records.
The first entries are in 65 places; Istanbul (Dersaadet) has 26 of them, Beyoğlu 5 and Ioannina (Yanya) 4. The most frequent job titles are Muhabere Memuru (56), Memur (9) and Muhaberat-ı Ecnebiye Memuriyeti (9). The median salary in 1876/77 was 300 kuruş a month, over the 120 with a salary that year.
The table lists them by highest monthly salary, the rank the personal pages give under “Recorded with”. Equal salaries share a rank.
