Life#
Süleyman Lütfü Efendi was born in Ürgüp in 1852/53 (AH 1269), into the Muslim (Müslüman) community. Schooling took four years, at a school for young children (Sıbyan Mektebi).
Süleyman Lütfü began work in Ürgüp in 1876/77, at about 23, paid from the start, on 150 kuruş a month. The annual lists begin in 1876/77, with Süleyman Lütfü as Muvassil in Ürgüp, the birthplace, where the entries run to 1879/80. Next came Kayseri and Konya from 1880 to 1891, with a rise to communications official (Muhabere Memuru) in 1888/89, then Kırşehir from 1891 to 1896. For 1881 to 1888 the lists have no entry. The last post was in Avanos in 1896/97, with a rise to director of the third grade (3. Müdür).
