Life and register readings

VELİTTİN EFENDİ was born in Kirkuk (Kerkük) in 1872/73 (AH 1289). The annual lists begin in 1893/94, with VELİTTİN as mal ve vergi kalemi mülazımı (Görevin sona ermesi) and no place named. For 1897 to 1901 the lists have no entry. Next came Aleppo (Halep) from 1903 to 1907. Alongside, the lists for 1905 to 1908 give a second post, in a post with no place named as tahrir-i vergi başkâtibi. At the same time, from 1907/08, the lists also place VELİTTİN in Raqqa (Rakka) as Ziraat Bankası sandığı memuru. The lists give Azil (dismissal) for 1902/03 instead of a title.

The salary went from 200 kuruş a month in 1894/95 to 500 in 1896/97, the peak, when 52 per cent of paid officials earned less. The final annual entry is for 1907/08.
