Life and register readings
Mehmed Zihni Efendi was born in Safranbolu in 1868/69 (AH 1285). At about 19, in 1887/88, Mehmed Zihni began work. The first annual entry, for 1887/88, places Mehmed Zihni in Safranbolu, the birthplace, as mülazım (tahrirat kalemi).
