Life and register readings
The life of Mehmet Sadık Efendi began in Dagistan in 1831/32 (AH 1247). Mehmet Sadık studied at a school for young children (Sıbyan Mektebi). Work began in 1867/68, at about 36, on a first salary of 150 kuruş. Of the 5,664 officials whose age at first work is known, fewer than 5 per cent started at 36 or older.
