İbrahim Edib Efendi

İbrahim Edib Efendi was born in Çemişgezek in 1864/65 (AH 1281); the father's occupation was "Saray-ı Hümayun kapıcısı". Work began in Diyarbakır in 1889/90, at about 25, on a first salary of 800 kuruş. The annual lists begin in 1889/90, with İbrahim Edib as Diyarbakır vilayeti sermühendis muavini in Diyarbakır. Alongside, the lists for 1890 to 1893 give a second post, in Elazığ as Mamuretülaziz vilayeti sermühendis muavini. At the same time, from 1892 to 1895, the lists also place İbrahim Edib in Trabzon as Trabzon vilayeti sermühendis muavini. Alongside, the lists for 1894 to 1896 give a second post, in a post with no place named as Pire ve Kalonya körfezleri bataklık temizliği ve dalyan inşaatı teftiş komiseri. Alongside, the lists for 1895 to 1902 give a second post, in Tokat as Tokat sancağı umur-ı nafia mühendisi. İbrahim Edib then moved to Ioannina (Yanya) from 1902 to 1905.
