Life and register readings

Born in Bursa in 1844/45 (AH 1260), Minas Efendi came from the Hristiyan community. Minas studied at a community school (Millet Mektebi). At about 30, in 1874/75, Minas began work, on a first salary of 600 kuruş. The annual lists begin in 1874/75, with Minas as idhalat ve ihracat mukayyidliği and no place named. The last post was in Ayvalık in 1881/82. The lists give İstifa (resignation) for 1880/81 instead of a title.

The salary never rose above the first in the lists, 600 kuruş a month in 1874/75, when 63 per cent of paid officials earned less. The last annual entry is for 1881/82.
